The 1934 Legenda yearbook from Wellesley College offers a remarkable glimpse into student life during the early twentieth century. Edited by Alma L. Wilson with Martha Leigh serving as business manager, this volume contains 200 pages plus advertisements and is filled with black and white photographs documenting the graduating class, campus organizations, traditions, and life at one of America’s most respected women’s colleges.

Bound in its original linen-covered boards, the yearbook measures approximately 8 x 11 inches. The cover displays honest age and wear, and while the spine remains intact, it shows significant deterioration consistent with its age. A vintage brass bookmark is included with the volume.

Adding to its provenance, this copy comes from the reading room of The Northfield, an 1887 hotel in Northfield, Massachusetts, that welcomed visitors attending the Northfield Seminary for Young Ladies and the renowned summer conferences led by Dwight L. Moody. The hotel stood for nearly ninety years before being demolished in 1977.

A wonderful piece of Wellesley College history and an exceptional addition to any collection of collegiate memorabilia, Massachusetts history, or women’s education.
