This is a fascinating and highly collectible mixed archive of antique paper ephemera spanning the late 19th century through the early 20th century, offering a rare glimpse into personal memory-keeping, early recordkeeping, and local history. The collection includes autograph and poesy books, a court docket log from New Hampshire, a 1930s scrapbook, and a handwritten expense ledger, each with its own unique historical character and visual appeal.

The earliest piece is a small Victorian autograph album dated 1889, measuring approximately 2.75” x 4”, preserved in good condition for its age with typical signs of wear consistent with handling and time. Also included is a larger poesy autograph album from 1897–1899, measuring 4.75” x 6.25”, featuring a decorative celluloid cover with velvet backing. This piece is in good antique condition overall, though the cover is beginning to separate from the page block, reflecting its age and use over a century ago.

A particularly compelling historical document in this collection is a Grafton County Superior Court log book from October 1913 in Grafton County Superior Court in New Hampshire. Measuring 4.5” x 7”, it remains in good condition with some soiling to the cover. Inside, it contains a full listing of judges, clerks, legal counsel, and docketed cases along with disposition notes, offering a rare working snapshot of early 20th-century judicial activity in rural New England. Also included is a 1914 poesy (autograph) book measuring 5” x 8”, featuring a metal clasp and written entries in a foreign language. It is in good antique condition and adds an international dimension to the collection, reflecting the cultural reach of autograph and friendship books during this era.

A 1932 composition scrapbook, measuring 7” x 8.5”, contains a rich assortment of newspaper clippings, including a serialized illustrated story titled Santa and the White Fox by Sigurd Arne, along with Santa Claus and Company comic strips. The scrapbook remains in good condition and captures early 20th-century popular print culture and seasonal storytelling.

Finally, the collection includes a 1928 handwritten record ledger measuring 6.25” x 9.5”, which appears to document household or small business expenses organized by date. This piece offers a practical, everyday view of financial recordkeeping during the late 1920s and remains a strong example of period documentation.

Together, these pieces form a compelling archive of personal writing, civic recordkeeping, and printed popular culture, making this an excellent collection for historians, ephemera collectors, genealogists, or anyone drawn to authentic historical paper artifacts.
