This antique 636-page guide for farmers and homesteaders focuses its first 436 pages on ailments, remedies, surgical treatments and the raising and care of horses, cattle, pigs and chickens. The final 250 pages deal with many varied activities of farm life: raising crops, curing for human ailments, pruning trees, fixing equipment, killing pests, etc. This guide contains many engravings and three fabulous, intricate full colored manikins. Each manikin has four overlays (five layers) showing the skeleton, muscles, and organs of the horse and cow. This book is in fair to good condition for its age. The cover shows some staining and soiling. It is attached, though it’s beginning to separate from the spine. The pages have spots of discoloration here and there. This book measures 6.75” x 9.5” and is 2.5” thick!
